Our Story

Woven from a love of heritage & the human hand

BnT — BordersnThreads — began with a single belief: that a saree should carry the soul of the hands that made it. Every piece we offer is one of its kind, woven and reserved for those who recognise its uniqueness.

How it began

A thread pulled loose, a tradition rewoven

It started on a trip through the weaving villages of India — rows of pit looms, the rhythmic clack of the shuttle, and artisans whose families had carried the same craft for generations. We watched a master weaver finish a border that had taken many days, and realised how few of these stories ever reach the women who would treasure them.

BnT Sarees was founded to narrow that distance — to bring handwoven, bespoke sarees from the loom to your wardrobe, after curating it through our in-house designing team while keeping the labour of the weaver at the heart of every drape.

We don't manufacture sarees. We carry forward the quiet, patient art of the people who weave them.

The craft

From loom to wardrobe

Four unhurried stages stand between a spool of yarn and the saree you'll wear proudly

01

Yarn & dyeing

Pure cotton and silk yarns are sorted and dyed in small, colour-fast batches.

02

Setting the warp

Thousands of threads are measured and mounted on the loom — days of work before a single weft is woven.

03

Handweaving

Loom is then run, shuttle by shuttle, the motifs and borders emerging row by row.

04

Finishing & checks

Each saree is then curated by in-house design team, washed, pressed and inspected by hand before it is named and made ready to be worn.

Heritage & responsibility

Made to last, made to matter

Unique

Every saree is one of its kind and only one piece is curated. When it's gone, it's gone.

Fair to makers

We buy from weavers at fair price ensuring value for labour and encourage creativity.

Made to keep

Time-honoured techniques make a saree built to be worn with a twist of contemporary design.
